Balloon boy FalconWith a name like Falcon, you’re bound to become famous, right? Well, Falcon Keene is certainly well known these days – not because of his unusual name but because he was feared to have floated away in a flying saucer!

The six-year-old made news last Thursday when his parents reported that he had disappeared in a homemade flying saucer. After Falcon’s parents called the Federal Aviation Administration, a local TV station, and 911 to report the incident, the Sheriff’s Department, National Guard, a university professor, and major media outlets showed up to help. Thousands of dollars were spent on aerial and ground searches – Denver International Airport even closed briefly in response to the flying saucer report. As it turns out, Falcon was hiding in the garage attic the entire time.

What seemed like mere child’s play changed, however, when little Falcon admitted on CNN that his parents “said we did this for a show.” That’s interesting… the Keene’s already have some TV show experience. The family appeared on ABC reality show Wife Swap, and Keene pitched other shows to various networks. Could the flying saucer debacle have been the family’s desperate attempt to hold onto their 15 minutes of fame?

Falcon has two older brothers, Ryo and Bradford.
