It’s been a year since country sweetheart Shania Twain split from husband Robert “Mutt” Lange, after he had an affair with her best friend, Marie-Anne Thiébaud. More than a year later, Twain is in a better place thanks to the love and support of family and friends, including Thiébaud's ex-husband, Frédéric Thiébaud.

"I feel very alive and well, ready to take on the gift of another year," Twain recently wrote on her website.

The real name of the Canadian-born singer is Eilleen Regina Edwards. She became Eilleen Twain after being adopted by her stepfather. When her music career started taking off, Twain became Shania, a Native American name meaning “On my way.”

Son Eja D’Angelo was born in 2001. Eja is pronounced “Asia.” Eja spends a lot of time with Thiébaud's daughter, Johanna.
