Federer, who turned 28 on August 8th, met his daughters on Thursday, July 23rd, in Switzerland. The No. 1 tennis player in the world announced that the twins birth day was, “the greatest day of our lives.” Charlene has both French and English roots. In French, Charlene is the feminine of Charles, meaning “manly.” The Old English origin traces back to “ceorl,” or “man.” Riva comes from the French origin and means “by the shore.” Myla is the feminine variant of Myles. The English meaning is “merciful.” The name Rose has French, English, Scottish and German origins. Federer met his wife, former tennis player Miroslava “Mirka” Vavrinec, while competing for Switzerland in the 2000 Olympics. Charlene Riva and Myla Rose are the first children for the new parents.
