Padma Lakshmi, Emmy-nominated host of Bravo’s Top Chef, is pregnant with her first child.

Lakshmi, ex-wife of author Salman Rushdie, is a former model, prominent cookbook author and has hosted Top Chef since its second season.

After  years of struggline with endometriosis, Lakshmi co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America. Endometriosis is a painful medical condition that can lead to infertility.

"As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle,” Laksmi’s publist told US Weekly.
