I think its very creative and it's orginal yet different from everyone else's names. And I don't agree that its an outarage or crazy. I support the family 100% with their choice of name. I think its a little funny and cool. If it was not This story would not have made it on the news and all over the internet. What i do think is outrageous is the fact that they are trying to not allow the parents to name their child what they want. Now thats the REAL outrage. I also like their other choices of names "SUPERMAN". it's cool. I would even name my kid something different like that if i wanted to. And if people can have names that end with a number why is it such and outrage when people want a name that begins with one.

I honestly think that a parent can name there kis whatver they want its a free country or wait this is in new ZELAND ou know what PATHETIC 4real I mean come on!

Anyone irresponsible enough to attempt to call their kid '4real' should not be allowed to have children (if only that was possible)...I would not be surprised if they also considered 'Myparentsareidiots', 'Pickonme', 'Iamwithstupid', 'wazzup', etc....

They should have the right to call their baby whatever they want, but it would cause some complications with computers and other things.

It's just wrong doing that to a child. Fine you're obviously parents out to get attention, however letting your kid suffer for it? Yes, it is a trend, but it is a trend closely connected to another trend. That because people (yes, because children are people, remember that) are given these strange and just horrible names, they choose to change it. But it sets a mark if your parents refuse it, so you have to be ridiculed for 18 years. It's not fun!

i have seen some pretty crazy names but i have to admit that's really weird naming their child 4real. i do think it is wrong not letting them, parents should have that right to name their kids whatever they want weather it be 4real or door...lol
in the end it is their child that will be living with the names they are given and i think parents are starting to forget that.

Unbelievable! They better choose to homeshcool (if that is possible in New Zealand) And keep the poor kid sheltered for the rest of his life. Man, kids can be hateful and it is sad to say that this poor kid is going to grow up experiencing some heavy ridicule.

I think your being rather unfair, why is it any different to START a name with a number rather then END a name with it? You have John IV and such why not allow people to have a number at the beginning of their name. I thiik it is an odd name and yes the kid would probably get picked on but lets take a minute and think that why pick on the poor kid if he wasn't the one to choose it? Society is f-ed up and I won't be the first to admit it. Let the poor parents choose whatever they want...

Parents should be allowe to name their child whatever they want, however, some people try to abuse that obviously. Someone has to control it. I mean, come on, 4Real is in no way, shape, or form a suitable name for a person, and these parents should at least try to be more responsible. This child will be ridiculed and forced to suffer with this name for at least 18 years. That's unfair and irresponsible! ENDING your name with a number is way different than STARTING your name with one. The number at the end is only there to represent the person/people you wer named after, it's not there to be trendy.

Strange but it was what they felt at the time. My aunt named her daughter miracle, beacuse doctors told her that if she has another child, it will cost her life and her came a beautiful healthy baby girl.

Why stop at 4Real? Why not name your daughter Br33d3r? Lets throw some other characters in too, I think Br@t would be extremely original, and I can't see why anyone would ever protest to having such a name, all the other kids'll think it's cool too.

If you read their reasoning for naming their child 4real, its cute and understandable....and anyways, what do you people care what the child is named. Even if that child hates it they can always change it....leave them alone.

Haha I'm from New Zealand and i think that this story got more attention from other countries then it did here. Here in NZ you're not allowed to name your kid God, Jesus, Satan, Allah or any type of swear word such as F**k lol. Though i do think that parents should have the right to name their child anything they want, how long is it going to be before people start going to court to name their child Satan Sh**t. It's all about upholding the law and if the parents really wanted to name their kid 4Real, they could easily change the spelling to something like Foreal to save a lot of time, money and energy. Besides, it's cruel. Imagine a Dr 4Real Wheaton or 4Real Wheaton as a book author. People just wont take him seriously.
