Vitamin A is required for its role in vision, cellular growth and differentiation, and immune function.

Vitamin A deficiency is rare in western societies, but quite common in other parts of the world. Babies, who suffer from Vitamin A deficiency, suffer mostly from lung complications.

On the other hand, Vitamin A supplements can be quite dangerous. Supplement such as Beta-carotene should not be taken unless direct orders from your doctor. According to the world Health Organization, your maximum intake of vitamin supplements should not exceed 3000 Mg. as it can cause complications to your baby.

Vitamin A content in breast milk is produced mostly in the third trimester. Try to eat one product from the daily to maximize the production of Vitamin A, so that your baby is born, there will be enough to make him strong.
