Vitamin D is essential for bone building and helps absorb calcium (very important).
Your stomach is essentialy a "construction site" for your baby, and you will need to supply material daily so the work won't stop.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, maintains calcium and phosphorus levels and is essential for growing teeth and bones.

Vitamin D comes mainly from the sun or milk. Just imagine how important Vitamin D is if it is in the milk that your baby will feed of for the first few months of his life.

What else contains vitamin D? How much do you need?

It is recommended to consume 5 mcg of Vitamin D daily. This is the equivalent of three to four glasses of milk.

Get some sun. It is recommended getting fifteen minutes of sunlight a day. Try to take your walks in the afternoon when the sun is out.

Vitamin D deficiency is very rare, especially in the western world. Symptoms can be bone pain or softened bones.

You don't have to worry about that; just remember to eat properly, regularly and on time.   What could be better than to bask in the sun with a sweet milkshake drink?

Other foods containing high quantities of Vitamin D:
• Fortified milk
• Fortified orange juice
• Sardines (canned or fresh)
• Egg yolks
• Fish liver oil  (It is much more healthier than it sounds)
• Herring
• Mackerel
• Salmon
• Tuna fish
