Allergies are a nuisance. Sneezing, puffy eyes, swollen tongue and many more annoying symptoms. How these symptoms affect my baby?

Environmental allergens surround our daily life: dust, fungus, humidity, smoke and mold. If you are sensitive to one of these allergens, you are most likely to suffer from them on occasion.

Allergies are very common during your pregnancy. a recent research discovered that approximately twenty five of pregnant women suffer from allergic reaction. The other expecting moms, who felt all sorts of reactions, were actually reacting to hormonal changes, which can cause same symptoms (stuffy nose, swelling, puffy eyes etc.).

If you are aware of your allergies and are taking medicine, consult with your doctor weather to proceed with treatment. Some of these medications should not be taking while pregnant, especially in the first trimester (decongestants such as pseudoephedrine). Consult your doctor on using natural antihistamines, homeopathic drugs and allergy shots, which are safe if you already taken one and the side effects are known.

The best advice is to stay away as much as you can from known allergenic concentrations. If you are allergic to pollen and dust, skip Sunday hikes. Avoid sitting in a stuffy, damp and smoky bar.

Allergies are a drag, but they are controllable. Try to be out of harms way as much as you can, and your sneezing will stop accordingly.
