The first thing you need to know about babies is how to conceive them. With this in mind, here is a step-by-step, do it yourself list of seven tips for getting pregnant:

Step One: Find a partner of the opposite sex. Ideally this  is someone you love and care about.

Step Two:  If you are on the pill, stop taking it. The recommended time is about three cycles before you want to get pregnant.

Step Three: Get your body ready for this nine months’ load. Do blood tests, take vitamins or supplements, it's not going to be an easy ride.

Step Three A: All you men -- get yourselves mentally prepared. Just because the woman is carrying your child, it doesn't mean you’re off Scott free. Start making arrangements and looking into the future, your baby will come sooner than you expect.

Step Four: Verify when you ovulate. For most women, this occurs in the middle of their menstrual  cycle. You can consult with your OBGYN and  buy an ovulation calculator in any drug store.

Step Five:  Have unprotected sex around your ovulation time. You can start three days before your calculated ovulation time. Repeat this action until you’ve missed a period. A lot of times it does not succeed the first time. Do not be discouraged and continue.

Step Six: If everything goes according to plan, the first symptoms of pregnancy will start manifesting:
• Breast Tenderness
• Frequent Urination
• Nausea
• Food Cravings, or Aversions to Foods
• Sensitivity to Aromas
• Heartburn and/or Constipation
• Mood Swings and Irritability
• Higher body temperature
• Low Back Pain

Step seven: It is time to check if you are pregnant. There are two ways to check if you are pregnant: a home pregnancy test, to be done 2 - 3 days after you have missed a period. This test measures level of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in your system. HCG is produced by the embryo and is first detectable your bloodstream. The second way is to do a blood test called Serum beta HCG. This can be done in cases when the menstrual has already started.
