The thyroid gland will mature at this time and will provide your baby with the necessary hormones they will use throughout their lives. This month your baby’s reproductive organs will begin to develop. If you are having a boy, the prostate gland begins to form. If you are having a girl, the ovaries will begin to move downward from the stomach of the baby into the pelvis. To protect your baby’s skin from the liquid it is submerged in while in the womb, Lanugo, very fine hair covers the baby’s body and grows until approximately the 26th week of pregnancy. his week your baby is approximately 3.4 inches. Changes in your Body You may be experiencing constipation as your hormones have relaxed the bowel muscles, causing them to work less efficiently.
