The baby reaches more than 11 inches in length.
Your baby can hear sounds penetrating the abdomen! Male voices are lower and reach the baby easier – so Dad, your baby can hear you! By this week the proportions of the baby’s body are very similar to those of a baby at birth. The pancreas has developed enough to begin producing insulin, a key factor in breaking down sugars. If born this week, there is a chance that the baby will survive. Each subsequent week, the baby’s chances of survival rise. This week the baby will grow to about 11.4 inches long and weigh approximately 1 pound! Changes in your Body As your abdomen grows and you gain weight, you may find your lower back aching more. Resting with support pillows and massaging the area can help ease the discomfort. This week your uterus is about 1.5 inches above your navel.
