Quad screen is a blood test taken between weeks fifteen to eighteen checking complacations and fetus status. The test inspects four substances: AFP (protein produced by the fetus), hCG: human chorionic gonadotropin Estriol, estrogen produced by the fetus and the placenta and Inhibin-A, which is a protein produced by the placenta and ovaries. The test shows if the fetus is in risk or problematic, mostly it warns for down syndrome. This test does not identify a specific problem; it only determines if more tests need to be done.
