The baby will grow to about 15 inches in length this week and will weigh about 2 pounds. Your Baby The baby’s eyes are fully formed and its sense of hearing is more sensitive - it can recognize your voice. Voices regularly heard in the womb will be soothing to the baby after birth. This week the lungs have developed enough to be able to breath air. Muscles and bones grow and strengthen as well, giving your baby more bulk and roundness. Eyebrows and eyelashes have appeared and so has the hair on the head. Some babies are born without hair at all, while others are born ready for a haircut. Medical research shows that babies experience REM, or rapid eye movement, an indication of dream patterns. It may well be that your baby is dreaming in the womb! This week, the baby is expected to grow to about 15 inches in length. By this week the baby will weight approximately 2 pounds. Changes in your Body Your uterus has grown up to be a good distance above your naval.
