The baby is growing fast and now has less room to move around. Your Baby As your baby fills your abdomen, it has less room to move around. You may notice a gradual decrease in movement intensity over the next few weeks. This week the baby will grow to about 16.7 inches long and weigh approximately 3.75 pounds. Changes in your Body As the time for delivery is approaching, your healthcare provider may begin to schedule visits every two weeks. Colostrum, a thick, yellow fluid that is secreted before milk is produced may be leaking from your breasts. This fluid will become your baby’s first food, as it is very easy to digest and is concentrated with nutrients. The colostrum acts as a laxative, helping your newborn produce their first bowel movements. Mature milk is produced only on the third or fourth day after a baby is born.
