Use your imagination

Think what your qualities are and what you enjoy doing, so you can invent a product or a service that people will find useful, beautiful or interesting. The options are infinite.

Selling your old stuff

Old clothes you never really liked wearing, dishes and ornaments which just aren't your taste, the old chair which didn't fit with the couch and anything else that comes into mind.  All these things can be sold to pay for the new items you want to get.  The bonus is that you get to make extra room in the house for the arrival of the baby.  Alternatively, if you are moving into a bigger house, it means you won't have to pack and unpack unnecessary stuff.

There are many different places you can sell the stuff in.  First of all, there is the classic yard or garage sale, if you have quite a few things you want to sell all at once.  Apart from that there are many options for selling things either through the internet or to different shops which specialize in second hand items.

Anything you have which is in good condition can be sold through internet sights.  The best of these is probably "eBay", the online market site.  While you put your own things up for sale, you can get a glimpse at the different things they have.  Who knows?  Maybe you'll find that rocking chair you wanted for the baby's room. Do internet research to get the idea of how these sites work and the price range of different items. You might be surprised by the value of a book you have which is out of print, or a CD which is hard to get hold of.

Developing a skill or hobby you have is a good way to prepare for your baby.  If you find something you are really good at and which goes well, it could be a wonderful way for you to have a flexible source of money which allows you to stay home with your baby without getting financially stressed.  In addition, it might allow you to find a balance between career and family, at least for a few years.
