As 2007 winds down and we are ready to greet the New Year, we have decided to publish a list of the most popular baby names of 2007 as you rated them.

When compiling this list we have found interesting trends. In the baby boys list names from Jewish and English/Celtic origin are popular. We were extremely surprised to find a Japanese oriented name has made itself into the list.
In the baby girls list European names rain supreme. The classic American names have almost vanished from the list. There is even a name that appears on both lists!!!
We invite you to write what you think about this list – Is there no more room for “conventional” names? When the moment of truth comes what would you prefer?
Do you have a story to share with us about a certain name?

Here is the list of the most popular names for 2007

The top ten for boys in 2007 are:

1. Aidan
2. Ethan
3. Jaden
4. Tristan
5. Michael
6. Caleb
7. Caden

don't know what we're having yet. My husband is Irish/German, his name is Billy Kidd (seriously). I am Jamaican/Dominican, and my name is Christina Mercedes. I loooove the name Gavin, he's not sold on it though. As far as girls, we kind of like Gianna. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Careful With the Name!!

I'm 20 but i can still remember in highschool when there was a guy in my class named Rowdy he got picked on. Everyone teased him all the time asking him if he was rowdy as a goat so after a while he was called goat boy behind his back. Be careful with the name kids and young adults can be so cruel!
older names

My daughter is 6 months old. my husband & I went with an older name that I've always loved, Audrey. He chose Diane as her middle name. It has gone over really well. Everyone loves it! the old names are starting to come back. Or you can put a newer name with a older one. If we ever have a boy it will be Peyton Richard. Peyton because we agreed on it & Richard after his dad.

I have two children. Our first, a boy, we named Aiden because my husband and I are both firefighter/ paramedics. Aiden means "little fire." We thought that was cute. Then came a little girl and we named her Alivia. We really liked the name Olivia - and it was my husband's idea to spell it with an A -- so they'd both be that way. The funny thing is, we thought we were being original. But, they are 4 and 3 now...and we hear and see their names all over the place!!!
Back to u, Nicolina.

I have a suggestion for SarahM

Thats a good idea but try it a little different. Y don't u pick the boy's name and he picks the girl's. But I would reccomend a different boy name. Make it Irish, just not that exact name. It sounds sort of embarrasing 2 me. Then if u both agreed on both names it would work fine!!

I love all of these names, but they take on very different personalities. You may just have to look at your baby before you decide. Something will feel right.
I LOVE CHARLIE!

I have already planned to name one of my children in the future charlie after my grandpa. I don't really like frank or louise for middle names...they just sound old. Why not just name the girl Charlie? It is cute as a baby girl and would be an attractive name as a teenage girl.
