Naming a little person you have yet to meet face-to-face is no small feat. But, that doesn’t mean you haven’t dreamed of what your little guy or gal’s personality just might be like.  Check out our list of cool baby boy names and cool baby girl names.

Perhaps she will have your sense of style, or maybe he will have your team captain quality. But, no matter what his or her interests may be, tagging your tot with a cool name is something you don’t have to guess about.

The range of names that exude the cool factor have luckily expanded from names like Elvis and The Fonz to Gwen and Gavin. If you’re looking for a label that literally translates into cool qualities, you may want to try a title that shows strength, like Aaron, Ethan, Guillermo or Liam for a boy, or Bryna , Gertrude, Mina, or Velma for a girl. Or, try the name Mu on for size for either gender, a Chinese name meaning admired. Perhaps the Japanese name Reizo, meaning “cool” is the surname for your baby-boy-to-be.

If you’re looking for more names that shout cool kid (or even cool parents), from sports-centric monikers to names that stand the test of time, you’re sure to find the perfect cool crowd identity for your kiddie.

Legolas?
written by Camille, May 18, 2009
I am actually quite young, still a teenager, but I love experimenting with names. Right now, I'm quite decided that, if I should have a son, I will name him Legolas. But what would go with Legolas? I was thinking about Legolas Evander. Legolas means "green leaf" and Evander means "good man."

Jencie!
written by Jade, June 05, 2009
I was so happy to see someone having Jencie/Jency as a choice. I absolutely love that name and have named my daughter Jence (prononced like fence with a J) and we call her Jencie as a nickname. The name is very old...and very rare. In fact, I didn't know that it even had a meaning at first. Jence was my great-grandmother's name. It means HIGH BORN. It has Hungarian origins although my great-grandmother's family was English. I wanted something old-fashioned but trendy and unique. Everyone I encounter seems to love the name. Good luck!

I love Jence and Jencie! That sounds so graceful. I bet paired up with a more common middle name would be beautiful together. Thanks for all the great suggestions.
