I wouldn't have any other name

My mom named me Rebecca Ann but not before almost naming me Julie...which I am glad she stayed with Rebecca.
Everyone calls me Becky which I totally love!
Being born in the south and in the 60's the name Rebecca was pretty common, not so much these days.
I guess I can say that I feel pretty lucky I love both my first and middle name Rebecca Ann, not everyone likes the name they are given.

I totally love the name Rebecca, I was born in the south and in the 60's so I believe back then it was very popular, not so much now.
Everyone calls me Becky which I prefer to be called.
It is very hard to find the name Becky anymore which is sad cause it's such a great name.
I also love my middle name which is Ann, my mom couldn't have picked out a better name for me.
Rebecca Ann. - Becky

I have yet to find anywhere that list the way my name is spelled. I think I will forever be telling people "no it's spelled with only one 'c'" not that I mind I think it makes people remember me better. - Rebeca Ann

I didn't used to like my name. I was named after an aunt. I was born on my aunt and uncle's anniversary. Had I been born any other day, I would have been Jessica. My aunt was Becky- and she told my mom to never let anyone shorten my name to Becky, because Rebecca was a beautiful name and she didn't care for Becky, even though that's what everyone called her. My mother was very stern about this. Anyone who tried to shorten my name got reprimanded pretty quickly. I had one aunt, who was my mother's favorite sister, who got by with calling me Becca. And that's what I've been for a while.

In high school, I read the book Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. That didn't exactly solidify any warm and fuzzy feelings I had on the name...

When our first daughter was born, my husband wanted her to have my name as a middle name. I didn't want to use Rebecca, so she has my middle name. Which also happens to be my grandmother's middle name. Looking back, although I love my grandmother, I wish I had let him use Rebecca. It took me quite a while, but the name has really grown on me. Rebecca is a beautiful name, which represents elegance and a regal-nature. All attributes that I strive to possess. Ok, so if you are a party-girl, you might not think the name fits so well... but for me, the name just says class. And that's how I want to be looked at.

For someone who asked about the last name Bentley. It's not my last name, but it was my grandmother's maiden name. - Rebecca

I would never change my name...

My name is Rebecca Rose, which I believe is a beautiful name. (and not just because it's mine) Before I was born, my mom was undecided as to whether or not my name should be Erica Rose or Rebecca Ann. It was my grandfather who had the final say, and he chose Rebecca Rose.
One thing I noticed nowadays is that while the baby books give Rebecca as a meaning to tie, or to bind, they no longer state another meaning that Rebecca has. When I was younger, I used to be hooked on books with baby names and always looked for the meaning of mine. Aside from the stated, Rebecca also takes on a religious meaning "faithful one" or "servant of God."
Nicknames I often respond to, which is pretty much anything that's not Becky, are Becca, Becka, Bekka, Bekk, Bekks, Rebecki, and Rebeck. - Rebecca

I have always loved my name (Rebekah Marie). I think it is such a beautiful name and I love the spelling my parents picked. My parents wanted a biblical name so they picked the spelling of Rebekah from the Old Testament. Just thought I’d share about the different spelling :) - Rebekah Caban

I never really payed any attention to my first name before as I always went by my middle name Ruth. Everyone just always called me by my middle name, so I stuck with it. Then when I graduated high school, I decided to start using my first name Rebecca. I always thought it was kind of a pretty name.
A friend started calling me Reba (because it's associated with my name and for me being a huge Reba McEntire fan)...fave nick name I've been called! There were some people in some college classes who called me Becca. And, a couple people I've known have called me Becky. But, other then that I haven't had any other nick names.
It is kinda funny that it means knotted cord, to tie, because I used to make friendship bracelets and I'd always make them by tying knots in the string. I used to love to make those.
Also, I saw that at the top of this page, under the meaning of the name it says a similar name is Felicia and when I was in Spanish class in high school I chose Felicia as my name in that class. Just thought that was kinda cool.
I do like my name and I love that it is a name from the Bible! - RebeccaRuth

I am pleasantly surprised to find another Rebecca Faith on this comment page! I wasn't sure I liked my name when I was younger -- it seemed too long. But now I LOVE it and couldn't hope for a more beautiful and meaningful name. - Rebecca

The name Rebecca is fabulous - I highly recommend it. It is a name that everyone (no matter where you travel) has heard, but it is not so common that you will be in a room full of Rebeccas. Further as others have noted there are numerous nicknames people can go by. I was a Becky till I went to grad school and found Rebecca to be more professional. - Rebecca
