I was surprised to see it as a boy's name too. I work in a hospital with LOTS of babies and I've seen a few girls but never a boy. But I love it for either. Sucks that you can give girls boy's names and it's cool, but if you give a boy a girl's name it's sissy.

we are expecting our first baby and just found out its a girl. this was the only name we could agree on and have decided to name her addison bell and call her addy bell.

I can't believe anybody would ever think Addison is a boys name! It's like saying Madison or Allison are boys names too! Anyway it's a really cute GIRL name.

My name is Addison. I have to comment that, as a 36 year-old American man of English origin (whose father's name was Adam), I feel a bit queasy with the public surprise that Addison is a male name. It has been for hundreds of years.
