Addison

My daughter is pregnant and this will be my first grandchild. She is going to name her Addison Grace. I think it is a cute name and so does everyone we have told. We also say we will call her Addy for short. By the way, I was shocked to see this listed as a boy name.

We have named our dd from Ethiopia Addison and will call her Addie. My initials are ADD, she was born in Addis Ababa, and her birth mom's name was Addis, so I think it is a VERY fitting name for our sweet princess!
Addison as a boys name

I LOVE Addison as a boys name (which it has always been until everyone started looking for an girl name alternative to Madison). I hate that all the non-boring boy names are being taken over by girls....

We too have used it a a girls name after watching Greys Anatomy... Addison Kate is our fourth daughter - I call her Addi, however it gets a little confusing as we have an Abbi as well!!
Definately can be used as a girls name!

My husband and I are expecting our 2nd daughter in the next couple of weeks. We both decided on the name Adisyn for out 2nd, but played with the spelling as well to make it more girly. So we look forward to meeting our little Adisyn Grace!!

I loved this name and named my little girl Addison Lynn. Her Father picked out Lynn after his late mother. Now, sadly my daughter's initials are A.L.L!

I agree with Gatorgirl....

Gatorgirl...I agree with you. I hate that all the non-boring boys' names are being taken over by girls. Once people start using boys' names for girls, they no longer sound good for a boy, they sound "sissy". And boys' names are sooo hard to find. If you do find one you like, someone you know will be using it before you can, or it's just too common to begin with.

I have the most adorable little girl who is 11 months old and her name is Addison Grace. Everyone just adores her name, it is just so fitting to her and I couldn't imagine calling her anything else. I have never looked up the name Addison so i was really suprised when it was listed under boys. I love the spelling Addisyn!

If I have a girl I plan to name her Addison LeAnn Rae. I just loved it because it is so modern.

Our daughter was born in 2006 and we named her Addison Mae because it is a family name. We also thought it was unique at the time...had no idea it would catch on the way it has!

I have a beautiful 18 month old daughter that my husband and I named Adisyn Eileen (Eileen after my mother!) I worked at the YMCA while I was pregnant as a Unit Coordinator for an afterschool program so I was always hearing unique names. I came across a little girl who had a little baby sister named Adisyn (spelled just like that) and we loved it! Not like Addison the city or the character on Grey's Anatomy!
love it

I was surprised to see it as a boy's name too. I work in a hospital with LOTS of babies and I've seen a few girls but never a boy. But I love it for either. Sucks that you can give girls boy's names and it's cool, but if you give a boy a girl's name it's sissy.
