Meaning

The meaning does not necessarily mean manly, just like it doesn't necessarily mean brave. The actual translation from greek means 'with the heart of a man' or along those lines. That would mean that it could imply manly, or it could imply brave, as many believed that only men, and not women, were brave.

Either way, I love my name. Better than Gertrude in any case =)

Manly, that's an odd thing to say about a girls name. We're strong and courageous maybe, but manly. That almost sounds butch. Haha
ITS opposite

Not to be taken so literally. It's a translation
of manly - brave or courageous into the fem version womanly - courageous or noble.

well, the translation means manly.
and just becuase its a girls name people like to change it to womanly.
but that is not the case!!!!

i happen to love my name and its uniqueness.

oh, and i would highly advise adding the accent mark over the "e" like in my name.
this make it un-drey-uhh
not
ann-dree-uh.

its sounds a million times better
