It's a not-so-special name...
written by Ashley Piter, February 09, 2008
I truely dislike my name. In high school there were five other Ashleys in just ONE of my classes! It made me feel like I wasn't special at all. I always wonder why my dad had to name me that. Oh well.
For those who DISLIKE their name!
written by Ashley Monica, February 10, 2008
My name is Ashley, and although it is a VERY COMMON name, you should appreciate it. This is a name your parnets chose for you, and even though there are MANY Ashley's out there, just think; there are NONE like you!!! Just think about this... nowadays, everyone is naming their girls, Kayla, Kaitlyn, Trinity, Destiny, Hailey, etc. And EVERYONE has those names. So by the time they're teenagers, young ladies, and adults, EVERYONE will have their name, and their name won't be so unique. Appreciate your name, because it's VERY disrespectful to let it be known that you don't appreciate the name your parents chose for YOU to have, to label you as special in their life!!!! I'd be so upset, hurt, and disappointed if my son or my daughter (Andrew and Lora) told me that they hated their name.
Famous Male Ashleys
written by Ashley Robert Vandersteen, February 16, 2008
My name is Ashley. I was born in England, live in the U.S., I am 43 and I am a male. I used to really like having a unique name when I was younger. Then my name became extremely popular as a girls name and it has been trouble ever since. I am often asked for photo ID when I use my credit card (people assume I am trying to use a stolen card). Many people in the U.S. just can't believe that the name Ashley can be a male name. As a result, I have switched over to "Ash," which I actually like a lot. Anyone who knows me eventually starts calling me Ash anyway, so it works for me.

Anyway, I would like to know if there are any other famous Male Ashleys, besides the ones listed above? Please respond.

I happen to know an extremely talented and handsome male Anglican Organist named Ashley! He is a great person. I love the name Ashley for a man, but not a woman...maybe it's because I am British.

written by ashley is a stupid name, February 21, 2008
here it is so popular to be named ashley that my brother who also has a very popular name is marrying someone who is also named ashley. im going to court to change it asap. and my mom only named me ashley out of a selfish reason because that was the name she wanted to be called herself. my father never liked my name anyway. so im going to change it. its an awesome name for a boy and an awesome name for a girl IN ENGLAND but here in the US EVERYONE is named ashley.....errrr
what?
written by yoyovicky1, February 24, 2008
What? You're gonna change you're name? What's it gonna be? And I must say, you're mother wasn't being selfish, she liked the name and wanted it for yourself, that's what you said wasn't it? Well, frankly, I think your mother was being gracious of giving you the luxury of being named a beautiful name, one in which she couldn't have!

written by alwaysandforever, March 20, 2008
Ugh, I have ALWAYS hated my name. Not because it's not unique or anything like that, but because I don't like the sound of it of it's mean. The Ash tree? I mean, seriously. Ashley Nicole. I LOATHE MY NAME. And I'm changing it when I get older.
such an ordinary name
written by Ashley Elizabeth, March 23, 2008
my name is so ordinary! i think i'm going to change the spelling of it because the way it's spelled now is like the way everybody spells it and it would be cool to have a unique way of spelling a popular name.
