My son is named Avery and it is such a great name. It has never sounded like a girls name to me but I now know a girl named Avery also and it sounds so masculine to me.

We have two boys both have "A" names. Our oldest is Avery Nathaniel(a family name)and our youngest is Addison Charles(Charles is a family name) and it never fells when we take them to a new doctor they always call them girls. We just say no they are boys.
My son

I loved this name. When I was pregnant my hubby decided that it didn't matter if the baby was going to be a boy or girl, the name was going to be Avery. I was secretly wishing for a boy, because I too found the name to be too masculine for a little girl. We had our boy and his name is Avery Paul. I constantly get compliments on his name but I do get the occasional "that's a girl's name!" However in a world of "Apples", "Pilot Inspectors" and "Audio Science" I assure myself that his name is just perfect!

This was my grandfather's name. I think it is perfect for both sexes. I was going to name my child after him, but now I see how popular it is I have to change my plans! :-)

this name is really different and yet very suitable for a girl. in one of my favorite books the main charactor had this name and she was, strong, independant, and beautiful. and personally i think these are the charactorists of an amazing women.

My little sister's name is Avery and my neighbor (a man) is also named Avery. My name is Ashton, and it can also go both ways as a boy and girl name, so when my mother was pregnent with my sister, I loved the thought of her name also being a boy or a girl name. =) But, I do thinks it's more of a girl name, only because of her though.

I love this name for a boy. To me it sounds very masculine and has historically always been a male name. I would never name my daughter Avery.

My husband's name is Avery so I always knew it to be a man's name. I have two son's with questionable names Elisha and Avery. Both can be used for girls both originated as male names. Both sons are named after men in our family.
