when i was pregnate with my daughter Cecilia, my husband and i couldn't decide on a name. one night, i had a dream where i met a beautiful little girl, and she told me her name was cecilia. i decided this was a sign and named my daughter Cecila Grace.

I hated the name growing up, yet loved being the only girl in school with this name. There are so many nicknames that can be made with this name but those nicknames only served to make me a stronger person today. I sometimes go by CeCe or C2 due to my first and last initial. My mother always said she named me Cecelia because she like the name but my father always said I was named after his godmother Cecelia Ann. I Love This Name! And there is also a song out from the 1940s that is spelled the way my name is spelled that was sung by the Pied Pipers. Check it out, it is a pretty cool tune.

This my daughter's middle name and my also my mom's. Mainly the reason why I picked it is bc my mom passed away and I wanted my daughter to be named after her.

I was named after my mother who is obviously named Cecilia. When I was a child I used to hate my name because I was the only one out of my friends who didn't have a name like Lauren, Katelyn, or Amy etc... As I grew older I fell in love with the ancient elegance of it. To me it seems almost regal. People may be turned off to the name because it means blind, but I like to think of the name in correlation with the Saint. Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of music and music is one of the most beautiful things in the world.
