I think it ultimately depends on you- it shouldnt matter what others think- I am also female and have heard of only 1 male in my life time being named Courtney- but thats cool- us women stole the name and made it our own! However- I would say it is a unisex name- : )

that you guys are all hiped up over the name Courtney guess what I am a Courtney too. I never got picked on in School for my name it has a strong meaning and there is alot of people when they hear my name want to name there DAUGHTER that I have met a male with the name Courtney and he was awesome we got along great.. haha wonder why... My husband is named Courtney. Before I met him I've only known girls named Courtney. But now I'm so use to men with that name. It fits my husband because in French it means short nose and he does have a short nose. LOL!

My name is Courtney and i am a girl but that doesn't mean it can't also be a boy's name. I have never met a boy named Courtney. It is just a more common girl's name then a boy's. I love my name it is uncommon and a really cool. I never met another Courtney in my life and i am happy to see other people defending our name. There are some crazy names out there.

This is my cousins name but the thing that makes hers unique is the way its spelled. No one ever pronounces it correctly the first time they see it spelled on paper. Like when we have a substitute teacher they never say it correctly. It's spelled Kortni. I have never seen it spelled that way before and I think its a unique way to spell it.
