It was a classmates name. I like it.

I have loved and hated my name all my life. Both because it is so unusual. In my 35 yrs I have only met 2 ither people with my same name.

I am still debating on my names for my little girl. The reason I like Joni is because I liked the song by Conway Twitty, " Dont Cry Joni". I bet thats why the two people above have that name. I also like it because my fathers name was John. I am trying to name my little girl after both of her grandparents, and still be something different. I am now tirn between Lucy May, another post here explains why and this name below. Joni Elizabeth. That would get mom and dads name and she would have something different also.

Thats my name and i too have been torn about my name. I hated it and loved it at the same time.
I use to hate when people would relate my name to that song "joni please dont cry" but in truth my aunt gave me that name out of a book that she read about a girl who painted with her mouth. She fell in love with the name. I have only met one other person with that name until then i had thought that i was the only person on the earth with that name. It felt weird. I want to find a special name for my daughter like what i have " Joni Debra."
