We use this as a nickname for out oldest daughter Michaela. We felt that because she didn't have a "y" in her name there was no reason why we should spell her nickname with one.

It can be a bit confusing for some people when it comes to pronouncing and spelling the name but I like it. My mother named me Kaila Brooke (Brooke being my middle name), it just kind of rolls off the tongue haha.

My name is kaila! My mother named me this after my great-grandmother, Ila. She just added the K in there and there was my name. I have had it mistaken for so many times, but i still love it. I had no idea there were so many kaIlas' out there! Nice to meat you all :)
