i have a friend named kami. and i never thought it to be spelled like she did.. but now i see. it's cute.

I never met any other girls with my age and in 1996 when i did an internet search on the name I was amazed at there being over 100 females on aol with the name.
Everyone though my name was short for somethng but it wasn't

my moms name is kamie but she spells it kamie..ppl almost always spell it camie or kami..

It isn't often you find this named spelled Kamie but I love it. We always thought it was different, but I went to school with a girl named Kami. It was the funniest thing. Now there are like four of us. Other people saw our name and liked it!!

I see most here agree that this is a girls name. However, I must add that it is also a boys name in some origins. I wonder about the pronounceation of this name.

depends on culture... in japan.. u would say as kah mee.. (?) this mean devine... god.. godess.. i seen a loation with name khammy said same way) and was boy... so intresting way spell.. but japanese phonetic language.. so always be ka mi ? ?
