I LOVE my name too!! I think it is very unique and classic!! I don't really know too many other Laura's so this name is really special!! My favorite pronounciation of it is in Spainsh!! all the letters are
said so its not like some calling you Lora or Loren, which i really hate!!

I'm from New Zealand and it's a fairly common name in my country too. I think it's so old school! when I think of the name Laura I think of sort of names that would be from the same generation like... margret or Amy or Vannessa or.... Ella. I think of my grand mother's generation or even older. These really old fashion names are coming back though. Just think, in the next 20 years we could be hearing names that we thought no one would ever use again!!!

I think it rolls nicely of the tongue if said correctly! The down side is that I am from the southern part of the U.S. and some people call me Lara and I hate how that sounds.

Yes, a lot of people close to me try to add their own special twist by calling me Laurie or Lauren. I like it pronounced in spanish which is how my mother intended but in english it is nice too. I named my daughter Adonia Loren because I wanted a name that was unique and special and gave her Loren because its derived from Laura and adds panache.
