Its so weird the name Makayla came to me in a dream 2 years ago in the form of this little girl who kept calling me mommy. Now at this point i only had my one child and was weirded out that some strange girl was calling me mommy.She was in a couple of dreams so i decided that that not only will my next child be a girl but im gonna name her Makayla. I met my fiance 2 years ago and his name is Michael and sent it as a sign and we are planning on getting pregnant around Sept'08, but we're gonna change the spelling to combine both our name Mikayla Sianne. I cant wait. Such a beautiful name.

We named our baby girl Mikayla Brooke. We thought Makayla had too many "A"s in it. It is a beautiful name which contains my nickname "Kay" in the middle!

I LOVE THIS NAME!!!!! I was looking up names for my brand new cousin that's coming in July and I found my name. My name is MIKAYLA not MAKAYLA. It's pronounced different too, but not by much....the i is pronounced like eh, but in Makayla, the a is pronounced uh. Like I said not to big of a difference! In my school, only 3 girls have this name. It's so unique!

My daughters name is spelled MaKayla. I just love the name. And with a middle name of Marie, I just love it even more. She was named after both of her grandma's. Kay in MaKayla is her dads moms middle name and Marie is my moms middle name. I wanted her to have a unique name and at the time that I had her it was. Now there are so many but that is ok because it is one of the most beautiful names there is.

When I was pregnant my grandmother wanted me to name my baby Queen Ester but I didnt want my baby being laughed at, so i searched and found Makayla, & Malika in Swahili they both mean princess. When she was born I still wanted the name to be perfect they called her Babygirl for 2 days because I was undecided i wrote down what i had wanted, and tried to see which sounded better. On a drugged up morining the Dr came in to get the birth certificate together, i leaned over and pointed at the name Makayla and I always loved Shyane' cause she acted so shy during ultrasounds so in the end Makayla Shyane' (short for shyangel) n I thought thats perfect. Also Makayla's Celtic meaning is Who is like God. she will lead, independent, spontaneous, energetic entertainer, social, creative bon vivant, introspective, analytical, and mysterious etc...
