I named my daughter Nia, pronounced with the long I sound. I always get comments on her name and how original and pretty it is. Her name is Nia Rain and she really gives that name justice. I've always believed that a good name that stays in the mind of people will help you in life.

I named my first daughter Nia...also with a long I sound. Her name is Nia Mali, and she, too, gives her name justice. What's funny is that one of her little sisters middle names is Reign, so I guess we think along the same lines, Mindscape. Just an addition to the meaning of Nia...I chose it because I found it in a baby book with the meaning of champion. It was also defined as priceless. And Nia is my priceless champion.

My little girl's name is Nia Vaughn and her name is prounouced Nee-uh, like Mia and Tia. Just like the actress Nia Long. I love it either way, most people do mispronouce hers with a long I sound. It seems to be more common.
