I've only met one other Betha. When I was little, I wished that my name was just "Beth" because everyone could say that. Believe it or not, people really struggle with pronouncing this correctly, and often assume that it is "Bertha" (which I despise). 'Got teased about it a lot when I was little, too. But now that I am older, I'm at peace with it. It's definitely unique, and I couldn't imagine being anything else.

my name (Bethany) is a variant of this, actually it's origin i think is hebrew but it has shown up in a few irish name books. it means "house of joy". i used to hate my name, and wanted to change it to stephanie because every one confused it with that. but this name is unique, and i've only met two people with my name.
