I know

When my MOm was naming all my siblings she TRIED to pick names that were not common. But listen, there names are Jason, Joshua, Brittany, Josiah [which she did good on!] Bailey [which is becoming more common every day, and will probably be popular by the time she is in junior high!] and Brenna, which is fairly unique, but also growing. When I have children, I will name them names that are popular then, and by the time they are grown, it will no longer be common!

i don't know alot of brittany's and the ones i do know they spell it different. my parents named me after alvan and the chickmunks girlfriend. i suggest not to name your child after a cartoon character. i feel that there's no meaning! but keep up with the name i love the name and i respect it!
beautiful name
written by Brittany M., February 12, 2008
I think Brittany is a beautiful name. I like it spelled just the way it is. My name is Brittany-Merry. Just a first name. I think it is beautiful because it is two common names linked together to form a unique name. Try it!

Kill me
written by Brittany M., February 19, 2008
I looked at my mom one day and said I'm changing my name and she walked out she didn't even ask. I hate what britney speirs has done she killed the name and now my friends CAN'T call me brittany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when ever someone called me speris I want to die!
Call me Spears, and I'll call you an ambulance....

I like that my name is Brittany T-T-A-N-Y. I was actually the only Brittany in my classes growing up. It didn't become so common until the early 90s, so I just squeaked by with an original name. I agree that having someone famous with the same name, especially if that someone is constantly in the press for doing something stupid, can taint the name, but as long as no one calls me "Spears" I will be ok. I actually reconsidered going on a date with a guy because his last name was Spears. My friends didn't let up on that for months....
New Name Please!!!!!!!

Sometimes Common Names Are A Blessing Too!
written by Mommyto4in08, April 13, 2008
I named my youngest Brittany Abigail in '03 when she was born. I feel it is a beautiful, feminine yet strong name (just as I do my oldest daughter's name, Brooke Alexandria), and it suits her to "T". I don't find it as common as posted here, though we do live in a smaller city in Canada. Also, having been "blessed" with a very unique name myself (At 32, I have yet to personally meet another person with my name), I consciously chose not to bestow the same experiences an uncommon name could bring on my baby girl. Anyways, I love this name, and I have never regretted choosing it.
My 5 year old's name and I love it!

I knew Brittany was a popular name in the 1990s. I just always thought it was such a beautiful name. So when we had our second daughter, the name Brittany was tops on our list. But, we were worried about the entire Britney Spears thing. We decided we loved the name too much not to name our daughter Brittany and we are still hoping Britney Spears fades from the limelight! Brittany is definently not as popular as it used to be. We know no other Brittany's who are our daughter's age (she is now 5).

**BRETNEY**
written by a loser, June 17, 2008
I really love my name. Bretney. I was named after my uncle Bret and I haven't ever met annother Bretney. I used to get SO SO SO frustrated with people who confuse me with BRITTANY or call me Brittany Spears. And I believe that Brittany was getting all too common and so I decided to go by my middle name, Nicole. Sadly, latley Nicole or Nikki is becoming WAY to popular. AHH!!

This is my name and though I used to get annoyed by it when I was younger, I have actually grown to like it now. It is a very elegant name especially written in cursive!
I hate my name!
written by Brittany, July 10, 2008
My graduation class had a total of 34 Brittany/Britany/Britney/Brittney/Brittani/Brittannee's . OH, and I live in West Virginia! It's seriously overused and I can't wait to name my kids something unpopular and severely unique.
