This was our choice for a boy's name, yet we are having a girl (naming her Harper). I love the name Calder b/c he was a great American Artist, and the meaning of the name is romantic, and--- it is not a popular first name, which is always a good thing, yet it doesn't sound too unusual.

My mothers maiden name is Calder. She always told me if she had a boy she would name him Calder. Now when my husband and I have a little boy we will name him Calder.

I find the name Calder kind of interesting.. it reminds me of a volcanoe sort of, very unique. cool name though!
