The real meaning of this name is two fold. The first meaning is that is the legendary army of the hero Finn McOul. Fianna is also the name for the name for the wild ones - fairies, gnomes, etc.

I named my daughter that and although everyone thinks it's pronounced fee-ahna, it's really fee-nah. I wanted to give her a name with meaning and my husband is from Ireland.
