It is my name, i like the name, the meaning, and the way it is spelled- the only reason i dont like the name is: it's too common. I will be naming my child something less common- but still normal.

The proper French spelling is with an accent over the first 'e,' which makes it rhyme with 'Renée.' People always pronounce it 'Amy,' but it isn't that big of deal. I did not like having an unusual name that people couldn't easily pronounce growing up, but by college was glad to have an original name. I don't think it would be a big deal these days given how uncommon names are the norm!

I think the name Aimee is a beautiful name. It may be commom but not everyone with that name spells it the same! My parents are thinking of having another baby and i think the name Aimee would flow nicely with my famiy. If she(Aimee) was born then the kids names would be: Amanda, Micheal,Elizabeth,Lauren && now Aimee!! I hope we have a baby and i hope its a girl
