I had a dream that I was to name my child "arielle" and that she would grow to be a warrior for God. I guess "Lion of God" is close enough. Arielle is a wonderful name.

at first didn't like my name growing up because people compared me to the little mermaid even though there is a spelling difference. also people would ask me how to pronounce my name A-ri-elle and the would bluntly pronounce it wrong like ariel but now that i am older i LOVE MY NAME absolutely LOVE IT!!

Like the Feb 27 comment, I used to be teased growing up- people would mispronounce it and compare me to ariel the little mermaid.
now though, i love my name- its very individual, i love the way its spelled and the way it sounds. every time i introduce myself people always comment on the beauty of the name. well done mum! she actually was inspired by the name ariadne from the greek mythology of the minotaur, the labyrinth and the golden thread, but wasn't crazy about the ending of 'adne'. talking to my father (on the day of picking out their wedding ring!), they tried out the name with different endings and when they put it together with 'elle' they fell in love with arielle!

Anyone with this name or anyone planning to name their beautiful daughter Arielle is just blessed. What a perfect name! So what if people think of The Little Mermaid, she was a lovely character. My husband and I want to name our daughter this if we are ever so blessed.
