Berenice is a Biblical name. I saw it in the bible now I dont what origin it is but it sounds spanish.

This was the name of one of Cleopatra's sisters, and since Cleopatra was of Greek origin (not Egyptian, she was descended from one of Alexander the Great's Generals, Ptolemy)I would guess that the name is of Hellenistic origin.
