Actually this name is from the gaelic 'Ceilidh' meaning a folk dance indigenous to Scotland. It has variations such as the one above and the Anglisied 'Kayleigh'

True, we use the word to refer to an informal party...celtic music, dancing, boozin, etc. However, it is not indigenous to Scotland.

and when they called the role all of the teachers sayed it wrong (like see-lee) we once got ceiling
