My name is Annaliese and I'm a forty year old woman. I love my name and have fought very hard all my life to keep it from being abbreviated, shortened or misspelled! I'm always being complimented on it and I'm definitely a "one off"!

I also, enjoy my unique name. You don't hear it much in the USA. And later, if a child did want to shorten her name, there is so many choice to be made from Anneliese.

My name is Annelise. I've always found it annoying when people spell it wrong but lots of people have complimented me on how pretty my name is. Even though there are different ways of spelling it, is the meaning still the same for all of them?
I named my daughter Analyse
written by Debi, February 09, 2008
When I first heard this name it was from a movie on lifetime. I fell in love with this name, I just didn't know how to spell it. I tried to look at the end of the movie, but if you have ever watched lifetime, they shrink the credits to the lower corner to advertise something else coming on next, so then the words are too small to be legible. Anyways, I had kept that name in my head for the next 6 yrs. when I had my little girl. I had to guess on the spelling, so Analyse is what my husband & I came up with. We were going to start it with Anna, but then we decided not to because of how long her name would be. Full name is Analyse Marie Cabello. When kids first start writing, they only have so much on the paper to write, not to mention how big they write when they first start. So I will always love this name no matter what. I always get nice comments about her name, along with how beautiful she is too!! :0)
Anneliese/Baby names

We're expecting a daughter in April and came across this name in Hebrew.I had never heard of this name before now. In Hebrew form, it's spelled 'Anneliese' and means "devoted to God". My husband fell in love with it immediately. Even though I liked the name alot, I was a little worried about how long it was. I found myself having to repeat the name when people would ask what names we were looking at and they in turn would shorten it to Anna. I think it will just take a little time. My family and friends are already calling her Anneliese.

That's my name and I tell you I'm still pretty young and it's true it's unique and i get compliments but i HATE it, the name doesn't suit me at all, not one part of it does, you should really be careful when you name your kid because this name or any name along this line, can you really expect your kid to feel comfortable with this name? I know when you get older you appreciate it more, can you expect them to be 'gentle graceful kind devoted to god' i know a few other people with similar name just different spelling we all hate it!

Debi, I too saw that Lifetime movie some time ago and I LOVE that name, they spell in the movie Annelisse, which is different. I am trying to talk my husband into naming our little girl that, but he is not too fond of the name yet.. YET. I will get him there, but I am thinking of spelling it Anneliese.

My Name is Anne-Elyse Noel.. I ABSOLUTELY used to hate my name. Everyone spelled my name wrong. I Grew up with Lindsey's Whitney's PLAIN names!! And here I was Anne-Elyse. Not only did they NOT know how to spell it, they did not understand what I was saying my name was. It was annoying, much less being in preschool and learning how to SPELL it! it was awful! As I grew older I realized how unique my name was and is! And I love it. Only recently I have noticed more and more how popular it is becoming! No one yet spells it like us. But thats okay too. I am 22 years old and I have dropped the - between the Anne and Elyse.. But I do love my name and am glad I wasn't just a Lindsey or Whitney! Choose a unique name for your child! I'm glad my mama did!

My name is Anneliese and I don't really like it. I know it sounds pretty but it's been a nightmare for my 40 years on this earth. Think twice before naming your child this. People never understand what I am saying when I tell them my name. Either it's annalee or emily. Ugh. I pronounce it Anna-leece. Maybe if it was pronounced like ah-ne-lee-za (the german pronunciation) I would like it better. Sometimes I long for a normal name. I just met another Anneliese for the first time in my life and when people call her, I keep thinking they are talking to me.
almost an Annaliese
written by Anna, August 31, 2008
my parents almost named me Annaliese but came across the spelling issue among the two of them so I became Anna Louise.
