i think emo is like a rad name and that like all parents should do it. if i would have found it in time for my baby she would have been emo instead of laquishia. so any upcoming parents should use it

I named my kid this thinking it was an intellectual name but not to long ago my kid died from cutting his wrists, so please whatever you do don't name your kid EMO!!!!!!!

Just cause you grew up and didnt like emo's didnt mean that its a bad name. I thought it was a joke. but if it is a german name, then we all know where Emo came from now huh? GERMANY! lah, if you don't want to name your child that so be it, but remember the metal heads? Don't see them anymore, they're known as goths or something like that. Maybe emo will mean something different in a few ... 10 years, just leave it be for now. Not a lot of emo's cut themselves. they just talk about it.
And For a fact, most kids cut themselves because parents are just to god damn selfish to take the time and spend it with they're children, especially when they're in there teen years. So when you exile something they will go two ways.
Grow up to hate children and adults
or hate themselves and blame themselves for this.
Before putting emo's down, just think about what you did to them and what they're family is like. Spend time and accept them for who they are. They are young lively individuals, and have conversations and make sure they know that if anything is bothering them. that they can come to you for help. Thank you and good night.

I never in a million years thought Emo would be a REAL name. It is, though, and nobody can change that. Do you really know what emo means?
It means thoughtful, deep, meaningful, emotional, lonely, forgotten, and so on. Have you ever met a true emo? Well, you're reading their writing. No, I don't cut myself and it matters. The people who believe that cutting yourself and writing poetry are the main roads to emo are WRONG. Emo is a good name. In fact, it's the name of every single teenager in America who isn't so wrapped up in boyfriends/girlfriends and clothes/popularity.

Alright, there's nothing really that "wrong" with Emo people, not trying to bash on them, just saying, what kind of name is Emo? your kid will freak out when they're older and they've realized that they were named after one of the most controversial stereotypes in the early 2000's.

Hey, my name is Emily but I've gone by Emo pretty much my whole life. We pronounce it Emmo, but since I'm 22 now we chose the spelling way before emo existed as a subculture... just saying, I've met a few other Emo's, it's not that weird and like that person said, just because some people use it differently doesn't mean you can't name your kid Emo.

if u like the name then use it.if u hate the name and think it will lead to bad things, then dont use it. its as simple as that. end of story.

I think it's a wonderful name! I'm in highschool right now and i think that its a great name. Now that's saying something =] But i agree! Emo is just a fad and will dissapper. But also, in the german alphabet, E is pronounced 'ay' not 'ee' so it could be pronounced 'Ay-m-oo' not 'E-m-o'

Naming your child emo is a therapy session waiting to happen. not to mention all the tormenting the child will receive from its peers.
its not a matter of prep names its your childs sanity on the line.

Emo is an adorable name when you think about it. "Yo wassup Emo?" Doesn't it sound slightly good? Besides, Emo was a name before there were suicidal teens. It could just be called advanced gothness or something.

Um, I'm 16 years old (I was on this website for character names for a story so people don't think I'm a pregnant slut, thank you) and I'm a Metal Head, and tons of my friends are too (as is my dad, to point out the different generations). And we're not goths. Completely different stereotype there. Just saying that you shouldn't state things as fact when you're not even sure about it yourself. It irritates me when people do that. Not all teens asscoiate emo with cutting. some emos, are happy. Basically, everyone calls someone emo because of the way they dress or have their hair cut. Plus, emo was a type of music before asscoiated with people.

At Santa's Village in New Hampshire there's an elf statue for every letter, and the one for E is named Emo. I thought it was so kool I took a picture with it LOL
