how many of you have been asked "like gretal...hansel and gretal". how about "i knew/know a dog named gretchen". my nickname as a little one was gretch-the-wretch because i was a pretty stubborn strong willed little girl. i guess i finally grew into all that.
anyhow i like my name even though i couldn't say or spell it until i was eight years old, the name had to be grown into.

Do not worry about people spelling it or pronouncing it wrong. People spell and mispronounce even very simple names. My first name Carl should be simple to spell and pronounce. People butcher it all the time. It bothers me not.
