I always liked my name and in my 69 years found very few also named Wanda although I did have two friends in school named Wanda. My mother always said my father named me after an old girl friend. I have looked up Wanda many times and this is the first time I saw the meaning "Family" in addition to "Wanderer" and that it was of German origin. I thought it was "Gypsy".

I do like my name also; LaWanda. I've never found the meaning for LaWanda. However I did find the meaning of Wanda to be Slavic for "Vandal" and German for "Wanderer" I was a bit dissapointed...hence La-Wanda would mean "The Vandal" or "The Wanderer"...so to see that Wanda also means "family" brings a pleasant surprise to me also. I'd rather represent family instead of a vandal or wanderer.
Such a nice name

I wish my name was Wanda. It's a very enchanting name. =) Also I would be the only teenager with that name. =D
