Don't get me wrong -- I like my name. It's just less odd nowadays. It used to be the mother screaming "Kayler" in the mall was not calling for paranoid me, but now sometimes she really is reprimanding another Caleb.
A Harvard Divinity student once told me that when the first settlers came to New England, they scoured the Bible looking for odd names to poke fun at the British for their religious beliefs. So names like Caleb and Barachias found their way into usage. I've long wondered if this is true.

Anyways, im not religious, but it's cool it has a good meaning in the bible, incase he becomes religious. Kinda hard to find decent middle names to fit though, however i've found 1 syllable words often work. Any suggestions for middle names to fit?

Don't Just Search - Find The Perfect Name!
I was born on Christmas Eve, I have an older brother named Joshua.
A long time ago, I had read that the Hebrew meaning for Caleb meant courageous or bold. While it was the Arabic translation that meant dog.
I'm not sure, but maybe this comes from when Caleb and Josh went in to the "promised land". Maybe the Arab's considered him to be a dog over the years.
I used to hate the fact that my name meant dog, but it all depends on who's perspective your looking at it from. The Hebrews, or the Arabs.
When I told a friend that my name meant dog, he replied, "If you reverse the letters on dog, it spells God."
Which is just like looking at the word dog from a different perspective.
That's how I look at everyone now. If at first, they don't seem like a good person, try viewing them from a different perspective.
