Danielle is a pretty generic name. I personally don't see much in it- it's a solid, strong womanly name, but I think that it's so structured and plain. Also, I don't really agree with the meaning. But then again I really like names like Shadurai (Indian) and Ashlynn or Aisling- (Irish or Dutch) odd names.

I don't really agree with that, any name can be generic by someones opinion. I know that I have names I favor, but that doesn't mean I diss my name because it's godly.

My daughters name is Danyele and I happen to love the name and the meaning. My mom wanted me to have an abortion, so I thought that the meaning of the name was heart felt and made sence, I also changed up the spelling so it wasn't as common, not that common is bad, but maybe you should watch whose toes you step on.

When I was younger I always hated it when people called me Danielle and insisted on being called Dani, but now I've grown to love the name. I keep thinking now that if my own name hadn't been Danielle, I'd have given it to my daughter.

thats kind of rude to say a name is generic. my name is danielle and i see nothing wrong with in fact im a customer service representative and i always get comments on how BEAUTIFUL my name is. and danielle is not even half as bad as some of the names people name there kids. like amnesia...come on thats an illness.

My name is Danielle. Yes it may be common but a lot of names are. Besides. I just found out the meaning and couldn't be happier. Im 17 and about to graduate. High school is full of drama...even in my last months and people are very judgemental. but all I think now is...god is my judge.

It's nice to know that people think that my name means generic. Well, I'm a pagan with a christian name put that in your juice box. I go by Dannie just cuz I hate being thought of as breakable. I might have wanted to change it just cuz there were 7 in the same class as me but then my teachers started calling me Danniella and it was better cuz I knew that I was the only one of those.
