I named my daughter Rachel Claire, and I think it is absolutely beautiful. We have started to call her Rae Rae a lot. I hope that she grows to love her name as much as I do!

There seem to be way too many Rachel Elizabeth's out there. I do wish that I had a less common name. In a college of 2500 there were 3 Rachel Kings there, and I ended up in a class with another one of them. And people do always tend to misspell Rachel as well. But I did give my children less common names (I hope).

When I was younger everyone called me by my middle name, Hannah. I hated it by the time I got to 4th grade. Now I go by Rachel. One day my dad misspelled my name, (Racheal) and I decided that I liked it like that. I have quite a few nicknames too:

My name is Rachel Ann!!!.....growing up my Daddy always explained why he chose that name, Rachel. I am the first of 5 children. In the Bible, Jacob ultimately waited 14 years for Rachel because he loved her that much....I've always loved my name! Today, I'm a Living Historian, and for the added romantic touch, go by Rachel Anne...we aren't common, we have the name of a woman that was loved so much by a man.....he sacrificed EVERYTHING!!!!...

My name is Rachel Ava and I love it, I didn't like it at school because there were 2 other Rachel's in my class and people always spelt it Rachael. But I love it now and it is a bit more unusual these days (I'm 32!). Don't like the nickname 'Raych' though which I always get called.
