never heard of in 1995

I named my son Aidan in 1995. It was a strong, old Irish name that appealed to us because we are both Irish. It didn't make much mention in baby name books back then so it was unique. I agree that it has become too popular. I still have no regretts because he is the only Aidan I know his age. I don't think it is "irrating or harsh". Certainly not "common or overused" as mentioned above by Jayne. I guess not all parents are as creative as yours...

I think this name is so cute! I agree its not that popular nor ordinary. I think names like Justin or Ryan are very common...not Aiden. Im thinking about using it but Im not sure on a middle name to go with it.
Like it!

I need some opinions. I have a son named Isaac. I am currently pregnant with a 2nd little boy that is due in 3 weeks. We are having such a hard time deciding. I like Isaiah and my husband likes Aidan. Does anyone think that having an Isaac and Isaiah is too close? They obviously arent twins, so would it be strange to name them like that? I like Aidan, but I hear it a lot. I have never heard the name Isaac when we have been out and about. I love both names, but am afraid Isaiah is too similar to Isaiah, yet teh similarity is what I like about it. So stressed!

In response to above.....I do not think Isaac and Isaiah are too close. I also like the similarity of the two. My husband's name is Trae, he has an older brother named Travis and an older sister named Tracy. They are all a few years apart from each other, so I would say go for Isaiah but that is just my opinion.
Was once never heard...

When I named my son this 4 years ago...it was NEVER heard of. He was born in May. That year Aidan was the #1 boys name...go figure. I tried to be unique. Haha!

It's a perfect name for my son. He just fits it. He's so friendly but has a short temper.
It's a great name...

It's a great name, my husband and I agreed to it as soon as we found out it was boy! It's great that we chose the name because there's no Aiden's on either side of our family, so talking about a common name, NOT in our families! WOOHOOO!!!!!
I like it too.
