i read a book and they used it as a boys name. my husbands family picks irish/gaelic names for the babies so i thought i'd continue with the tradition. I was like i love that! I'm gonna use it. and now i find out its a girls name... so bummed
We spelled it differently
written by Ali, July 10, 2010
I fell in love with this name when I met a gorgeous girl from Ireland called Aisling. I told her I was going to use it if I ever had a little girl and she said to me that in Ireland everyone knwos how to pronounce it but in Australia, I should spell it how it sounds. So we spelt it Ashlyn. Everyone loves it.
