My fiance's name is Kelsey, (he would be a boy). I had never met a boy named Kelsey before him either. I am so used to it now, that he is just Kelsey and the name fits him.

My father's middle name is Kelsey, and when I found out I was having a girl I wanted to name her Kelsey Elizabeth, but my grandmother says the name Kelsey, is a man's name. So obviously it's out for me, but I think it's a fantastic unisex name.

i have a kelsey (boy) i hadnt really considered it a girls name until i met a female kelcie. most people i have come across see the name as a boys name but i guess its what you are used to for me i am used to it as a male name with this particular spelling other spellings i consider more feminine. seems the name was very masculine until the 70's where it started to become quite mainstream as a unisex name (seemed to be a trend then of naming girls boyish names) much like names like sydney,leslie,andy, e.t.c.

i see the name as masculine but has been used as a unisex name now for so long its more accepted as a unisex name these days but that is just me.

i have actually never met a guy named kelsey, but i know there are some out there. my parents actually named me kelsey after my grandmother, who's name is elsie. but they decided to stick a 'k' in front and change the spelling a little bit.
the meaning of it being brave is new to me though, ive always just known a 'kelsey' as part of a ship?
