Nobody, as far as I'm aware! I'm Irish and nobody in Ireland would dream of calling a child 'O!!! That's the funniest thing I've ever seen!

Actually, most of these names aren't names that are used in Ireland, they are more sort of, Irish 'themed' if anything...

This separates the true Irish from those following fad. Read the description: "Irish surnames formed by prefacing O'."
For example, one of my Irish friends is named O'Beliegh. He was being named after someone who had the surname Beliegh. So O' plus the surname, not just O'.
I bet you guys think that they wear green and drink on Saint Patrick's day too.

Two ladies that I work with have husbands who's first names fall under this title. One's hubby is O'Shea and the other's hubby is O'Neal. Hope this helps.

I highly doubt anyone in, Irish or not, who was in sound mind would name their child O.
