I love this name and can't wait to give it to my daughter one day. However, I will probably spell it slightly differently. This was the closest spelling I've found. The name is beautiful.

After 22 years spent with the name Rian as a girl, I can finally appreciate it. But for parents interested in naming their daughters Rian, just be prepared and expect people to refer to your child as a "he" if they're not already aware (appointments and stuff). A lot of people don't pronounce it right, and if you let them know how it's pronounced they usually ask "well isn't that a boys name?" So as long as you're ok with having to answer those questions a lot, and you think your daughter will be patient enough to deal with people like that (especially at a young age), it really is an awesome, strong name for a girl =]
